Tahukah kamu.
caranya memegang kupu-kupu,
tanpa lukai sayapnya yang rapuh,
yang selalu hinggap-pergi,
sebelum disentuh?
Aku bilang, aku pernah
menangkap kupu-kupu,
hinggap ditanganku,
sedihnya lari saat kusentuh.
Aku pun pernah
menangkap kupu-kupu,
erat kututup rapat di tangan,
tapi sayapnya terluka
setelah tanganku terbuka.
Anak kecil-manis menjawab:
Tanganmu cuma dua,
cuma bisa kau tutup rapat,
tanpa celah untuk bernapas,
agar ia tak lari,
dan kamu jadi sedih.
Tanganku memang cuma dua,
tapi aku ingin memegangnya,
memainkannya,
dan berlarian dengannya!
Anak kecil-manis menjawab lantang:
Kamu terlalu banyak berharap,
tanganmu cuma dua,
bagaimana kamu bisa memegang erat
sambil menyentuhnya dengan hangat?
Aku mengangguk pelan,
menunggu jawaban
sepelan kusentuh kupu-kupu
tak ingin lukai sayapnya yang rapuh.
Anak kecil-manis menatap tajam:
Kamu harus memilih,
memegangnya erat-erat,
dengan tangan tertutup rapat,
sambil berharap,
sayapnya tak terluka,
saat tanganmu terbuka.
Atau menyentuhnya sedetak napas,
dan biarkan ia lepas,
bahkan saat kau belum
menyentuhnya sampai puas.
Aku mengangguk pelan,
berlalu dengan seribu pertanyaan.
Anak kecil-manis,
dua tanganku tak pernah ingin lukai kupu-kupu yang sayapnya rapuh.
